Currently, most types of batteries can be recycled. Some batteries can be recycled easily while others need to be recycled with care.
This includes :

  • Alkaline Batteries – AAA, AA, C Cell, D Cell Batteries and 9 Volt Batteries
  • Lithium Ion, Lithium Polymer and Lithium Metal – Phone, Camera, Watch and Laptop Batteries
  • Nickel Cadmium – Re-chargeable Batteries, Batteries in Power tools, Toys, Remote Control Devices and Portable Electronics
  • Lead Acid – Automotive Batteries
  • Zinc Carbon Batteries

Batteries that contain high level of toxic components, are handled with great care and recycled through a controlled-temperature process. e.g. Mercury Batteries.
